Ne iktidar ne de muhalefet Cumhuriyetin 100. yılı muhasebesini ne toplumsal düzeyde ne de kamuoyuna yansıdığı kadarıyla kendi içinde gerçekleştiremedi. Buna karşın, konu zaman zaman toplumsal kutuplaşma yaratabilecek yüzeysellikte ve sloganlaştırmalarla gündeme getirildi. “Cumhuriyet Dönemi Sağlık Politikaları” başlıklı bu dosya çalışmasıyla, Toplum ve Hekim Dergisi olarak Cumhuriyetin 100. yılı muhasebesine sağlık alanından katkı sunmak amaçlandı. Bunun için de söz konusu muhasebeyi sağlık politikalarının belirleyicisi olan ekonomi, siyaset, toplum ve sosyal politikalar alanlarından başlatarak bir bilançoya dönüştürmeye çaba gösterildi.

Neither the ruling parties, nor the opposition parties managed to carry out a proper account or assessment of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic. This failure was both on a social level, and within their own institutional structure, as far as it was revealed to the public. Instead, the subject was sloganized and used as an agenda item, treated from a superficial viewpoint that from time to time led to social polarization. With this file titled “Health Policies in Turkey in the Period of the Republic”, the aim is to contribute, as the journal Toplum ve Hekim/Community and Physician, to the assessment on the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Republic from the field of health. And in order to do this, this assessment departed from the fields of economy, politics, society and social policies that determine health policies, and transformed these accounts into a full balance sheet.
