Medical education has continuously evolved in parallel with technological advancements. Since the 20th century, simulations have played a significant role, ranging from low-tech models to advanced technologies such as virtual reality and haptic systems. Today, innovative approaches like immersive technologies and artificial intelligence have emerged as prominent aspects under the umbrella of educational technologies. Educational technologies are defined as comprehensive systems designed to make learning processes more efficient and effective while aiming to enhance student achievement. Although these technologies offer more flexible and dynamic learning environments compared to traditional methods, they also bring ethical, technical, and societal concerns. This paper discusses the potential contributions of immersive technologies and artificial intelligence to medical education, and recommendations for their effective implementation.
